Dr. Philipp Paech


Dr. Philipp Paech studied law at the Universities of Bonn (Germany) and Toulouse (France) where he obtained the Diplôme d'Etudes Européennes. His doctoral thesis focused on misleading advertising in the light of the European law. After joining the Association of German Banks in 2002, he became a member of the UNIDROIT Secretariat (Rome, Italy) where he was responsible for the global Intermediated Securities Project for four and a half years. He has been specialising and publishing in the field of capital markets, in particular in post trading activities regarding investment securities, at both European and global level. He was Chairman of the G-30 Legal Committee on Clearing and Settlement and was invited lecturer at the Universities of Tokyo and Rome. Since January 2007, he has been acting as secretary to the Legal Certainty Group of the European Commission.
